George Mason University โ€” Where It All Started

MY STORY

From No Roadmap
to Raising Kings

I grew up in a single-parent household โ€” raised by a mother who worked tirelessly to give her two sons every opportunity. I know what it means to navigate the world without a roadmap, to figure out your identity in spaces that weren't built for you.

I became the first in my family to earn a college degree, served as Student Body President at George Mason University, and was initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. โ€” the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity founded by and for Black men.

I went on to found Boys N Action โ€” a mentorship program that has impacted over 1,000 young boys of color over the past decade.

That's me and my son at George Mason University โ€” the same place where I found my voice. . I wrote Nurturing Boys of Color so that every parent raising a son like mine has the tools I had to find the hard way.
